BONAVISTA HOME FOR THE ELDERS
  Bonavista Home for the elders is located at Bounavista Hill Galle, where the elders both men & women who do not have their family members to take care, find a secured shelter and happy living at this home. It is managed by the Young Men’s Buddhist Association(YMBA) of Galle. NAAL with the help of SOSVelsen& V 3 W (Velsen for the third world) headed by Mrs MarjanHendriks has been helping this elder’s home from time to time for over twenty years up to now...
   
PROJECT TO DONATE CONCRETE COMPOSTING BINS FOR MATARA MUNICIPALITY

NAAL, with the help of SOS Velsen, donated 702concrete compost bins to the Municipal Council of Matara. On 10 October 2010 the first set of bins were handed over to the Mayor in the presence of a large number of recipients at a function held in Nupe, Matara. The Mayor, Municipal Council members, Chairperson of Isadeen town Citizen’s Committee, who is also the Executive Director of “Rural Friends” who manufactured the concrete compost bins were present.The project helped the Municipal Council to reduce the volume of solid waste transported by composting bio degradable waste in to compost at their homes and promote people to use compost in their home gardens....

   
ETHILIGODA HOUSING SCHEME

COMMUNITY SWIMMING POOL FOR GALLE
With the Tsunami disaster it was felt that ability to swim would have saved a large number of lives and training the children in swimming was considered as necessity. KARAPITIYA HOSPITAL

Karapitiya Hospital being the main hospital in the Southern Province of Sri Lanka received assistance from the city of Velsen which implemented several projects to serve the public more efficiently. The hospital encountered the problem of storing liquid Oxygen supply within the premises and Velsen through NAAL installed a liquid Oxygen system for which Ceylon Oxygen Company supplies this important item to the doorstep and also maintain the system...

   
PROJECT TO ASSIST CHILDREN OF THE INTERNALLY DISPLACED FAMILIES IN MANNAR
At the requested of the Rev. Sister in charge of the Christ the King Girl’s Home in Murunkan through Klaas Van Slooten, NAAL provided 20 bunk beds and 40 mattresses. MICRO CREDIT PROPOSAL OF STICHING NETHERLANDS SRI LANKA TO ASSIST INTERNALLY DISPLACED PERSONS (IDPS) IN THE NORTH

PUBLIC PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP PROGRAMME - GALLE
 

To enhance the relationship between the public and private sectors in Galle district, NAAL, with the assistance of Galle- Velsen twin city programme, conducted two workshops in Galle. The first session was held to build awareness and also to bring the relevant parties together to identify possible ventures. WAR WIDOW'S PROGRAM - JAFFNA

With the end of the conflict after 30 years NAAL considered that it is the time to initiate projects in the Northern parts of the country to help the affected families. It was thought the widows were one of the most affected parties and through the help of security force civil coordinators; NAAL selected 31 widows due to the conflict to help to improve their living standards.
Accordingly ten pregnant cows, four pairs of goats, 100 one month old chicks for four families for poultry keeping, eleven Zig Zag Sewing Machines with accessories and two water pumps for agriculture purposes were handed over for 31 widows at Achchuweli in Jaffna....
